My name is Yamuragiye Cyprien, I am the founder of Christ My Only Hope, an international organization.
I was born in Rwanda, but I am now a citizen of the United States of America residing in Fort Worth, Texas. I have lived my entire life as a disabled person, having been born with severely crippled limbs and then losing one of my legs during the Rwandan genocide. However, I am a child of the one true living God who, in the aftermath of that same genocide, saved me through His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ.
I have traveled across four continents and more than twelve countries preaching the eternal Word of God and bearing witness to God’s glory for what He has done in my life. I am currently studying at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.
Through this website, I hope to keep in touch with the people I have met through my journey’s and to comfort those who experience similar trials to mine. My greatest hope is that those who read this website will come to experience the new life that Jesus Christ offers through His life, death, and bodily resurrection. If you have questions about who Jesus Christ is, or any other questions, please contact me through email. God bless you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, the true Messiah of Israel.
Who we are:
Christ My Only Hope is a non-profit Christian organization carrying the Gospel of Jesus Christ to as many people across all tribes, tongues, and nations with a focused ministry effort to serve those with disabilities. In Rwanda, we share the eternal Word of God by using our multipurpose building to train readers, Bible study, conferences and evangelistic events. We simultaneously serve individual’s physical and spiritual needs.
The Bible:
We believe that God divinely inspired men to write the Scriptures in the Holy Bible. Therefore, the Bible is God’s revelation of Himself to mankind, a perfect treasure of divine instruction. We hold only the sixty-six books in the canon as the inspired word of God, revering the original text of the Holy Bible in its original languages as God-breathed and inerrant. The one true God is its author, salvation is its purpose, and everything it says is true without error.
Nature of God:
There is one, and only one, living and true God. The eternal God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being. God is Triune in nature; He is not three gods. He created the universe out of nothing and is omnipotent and omnipresent. He is eternal, changeless, holy, loving, good, and perfect in every way.
God the Father:
God as Father reigns with providential care over His universe, His creatures, and human history according to the purposes of His grace. Often the title of “God” designates the first person of the Trinity, God the Father. To those who become children of God through faith in Jesus Christ, God is truly Father.
God the Son:
Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. In His incarnation as Jesus of Nazareth, He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He honored the divine law by His personal obedience, and in His death on the cross He made provision for the redemption of men from sin. Jesus Christ is God, the second person of the Trinity. As God the Son, He has always existed and was never created. He is fully God and fully man--the two natures joined, not mixed. As the second person of the Trinity, He is coequal with God the Father and the Holy Spirit. In becoming man, He was begotten through the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. Jesus Christ is the only way to the Father, to salvation, and to eternal life. He literally died on a cross, according to God’s plan, as the full sacrifice and payment for our sins. He rose from the dead on the third day, spiritually and physically immortal. For the next forty days, He was seen by more than five hundred eyewitnesses. His wounds were felt by some, and He even ate meals. He physically ascended to heaven. Jesus Christ will come again physically at the end of the world to establish God’s kingdom and judge the world.
God the Holy Spirit:
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God. He exalts Christ. He convicts us of sin, strengthens us toward righteousness, and warns us of judgment. He enlightens and empowers the believer and the church in worship, evangelism, and service. The Holy Spirit is God, the third person of the Trinity. The Holy Spirit is a person, not a force or energy field. He comforts, grieves, reproves, convicts, guides, teaches, and fills Christians. He is not the Father, nor is He the Son, Jesus Christ.
Man:
God created people in His image by a special act as the crowning work of His creation. By free will, man sinned against God and brought sin into humanity, making every man and woman in need of a Savior. God created mankind in His own image and Jesus Christ died on the cross for all humanity; therefore, every man and woman possesses dignity and is worthy of respect and Christian love.
Salvation:
Salvation involves the redemption of the whole person. God offers redemption freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer. In its broadest sense, salvation includes regeneration, sanctification, and glorification.
Salvation is by God’s grace, not by an individual’s good works. Salvation must be received by Grace through faith. Only through believing in Christ are we offered eternal life. People must believe in their hearts that Jesus Christ died for their sins and physically rose again, which is the assurance of forgiveness and resurrection of the body. This is God’s loving plan to forgive sinful people.
We believe that Christ is the chosen one, or the elected one, (Isaiah 42:1 and Luke 9:35) and in Him alone there is Redemption for whosoever believes in Him. We strongly believe that in Christ alone there is hope for salvation to all. The gracious purpose of God, according to which He regenerates, sanctifies, and glorifies sinners is completed in the work of Christ. Those whom God has accepted in Christ, and sanctified by His Spirit will be glorified and freed from the presence of sin.
We believe that true believers in Jesus Christ go to be with him in eternity. After death, all people await the final judgement. Both saved and lost people will be bodily resurrected. Those who are saved will live forever with Jesus Christ in heaven. Those who are lost will suffer the torment of eternal separation from God in the lake of fire. Jesus’ bodily resurrection guarantees believers that God will resurrect them as well and will give them new immortal bodies.
The Church:
We believe in corporate worship, usually through local churches, baptism through immersion, and the Lord’s Supper (Communion). We strive to serve our Lord and Savior through active, voluntary missionary efforts, and through aiding those in need: the poor, widows, orphans, and downtrodden, and through sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
We believe that Jesus Christ is the head of the church and we are the body. Jesus Christ is the Jewish Messiah promised to Israel in the Old Testament. Jesus said his followers would be known by their true love for one another and we endeavor to glorify Him in this manner.
